I AM...

I am whatever YOU think I am until YOU get to KNOW me. This is true for everyone else too, of course.. so don't make assumptions about anyone or pass judgment; ask questions. You might just make a new friend.

WHEN YOU'RE HEARTBROKEN IN QUARANTINE

You know what's worse than having a broken heart? Having a broken heart when you can't do much about it. Before when your heart got destroyed, you could at least go to a friend's house. You could have a drink at a bar. You could go to a nightclub and dance with a sexy stranger. You could treat yourself at the movies. You could go to the gym and feel relaxed. You could pull out your dating apps and fuck a stranger. But right now we don't have these options. We can't make ourselves feel better by going anywhere. We have to stay inside and deal with these painful thoughts.

So how do we take care of them? How can we heal ourselves from a recent heartbreak when our options are so limited?

REACH OUT

You can't visit friends right now, but you can still talk to them. Text someone you trust and say you need to talk for a while. Then use Zoom, Skype, Facetime, etc. You may not be in the same room with them, but there are people who will listen to you in other technologies. You can also reach out to a therapist who will help you process this. They are still available! Just because you're indoors doesn't mean you have to go through this alone.

DRINK...CAUTIOUSLY

So you shouldn't constantly be looking for alcohol as a way of drowning the pain away. But sometimes it can be helpful to just relax and have some laughs to yourself when you're under the influence. As long as you're drinking in a way that is not damaging to your health or to your day-to-day life, then go ahead and have an occasional night in to yourself (or with friends online!) to get hammered.

JERK OFF...A LOT!

Stroke that dick and give the best damn cumshot you've got. And when you're done, take a break...and do it again. Jerk off as many times as you need to- there is no such thing as too much jerking off. Having an orgasm will help that painful feeling in your gut because cumming releases all that tension. Maybe you could find a fuck buddy online who will jerk off with you! But if that's too painful right now, then watch porn. And then watch more porn!

PUT ON A GOOD MOVIE

One suggestion: The Object of My Affection with Jennifer Aniston and Paul Rudd. It's about a guy and girl who become roommates and she starts developing feelings for him even though he's gay. He just got out of a relationship and is trying to put his life back together. The best part is Paul meets someone else later in the film- a guy who's a MUCH better match for him than his ex. Also, Jennifer plays a social worker who gives pretty good advice about sexual morals. After this one, put on something that always makes you feel good!

CRY

Cry. Cry again. And again. Then cry some more. Let it ALL out.

WORK OUT

The rules are to stay indoors, but you can still take a walk outside as long as you're doing it with care. There are also plenty of yoga videos on YouTube that will help ease your mind and body. You could also order some dumbbells online. Give yourself a proper exercise routine because even a small workout is better than no workout. You need those endorphins to help your pain. Remember what Elle Woods said: “Exercise gives you endorphins. Endorphins make you happy.” Elle is a smart woman-listen to her!

WORK ON A HOBBY

It might feel difficult to get into something when your mind is so distracted, but do your best to get into something you enjoy. Play your guitar. Work on your singing voice. Draw. Write a story. Bake a dessert. Embrace your talents and enjoy the qualities about yourself that make you special.

Times are incredibly difficult right now for everyone. You're not alone in your pain. This isolation is temporary- as is your heartbreak. We're all in this together. Now keep fighting.

  1. When you're heartbroken, you should do any of the listed options, but only if you're a lost cause. 🙄🤷‍♂️

Like, get a life. Start caring about yourself. And after some time, maybe something even better will happen.
