QUEEN ELIZABETH II NAMED ‘QUEEN OF FAGS’ BY WESTBORO BAPTIST CHURCH

Westboro Baptist Church has named Elizabeth II the ‘Queen of Fags’ after she signed same-sex marriage into law in England and Wales last week.

In a photograph posted on Twitter by the ‘God Hates Fags’ church, it shows a woman holding a sign depicting the British monarch with a slogan ‘Queen of Fags’ and a World War II pink triangle – a Nazi symbol – on her forehead.

The attack comes less than a week after the WBC, once again on Twitter, said the Queen was a ‘Royal Whore’.

It comes as the world is waiting for the Queen to meet her new great-grandchild, the baby of Prince William and Kate to be known as the Prince or Princess of Cambridge.

James-J Walsh, Campaigns Director of Out4Marriage, said: ‘This is a timely reminder that whilst we are celebrating this new legislation, our community and civil society groups now need to be ever vigilant of reprisals from the securing of our equal rights.

‘As we've seen with equalities rights before, often after new rights are won, there are repercussions and a period of societal instability.

‘It’s also worth noting our work is still not yet complete, we must now ensure that the rest of Great Britain, the Commonwealth and world now work towards full rights for lesbian and gay people - as its not equality unless its full equality everywhere.’

In the last 60 years, the Queen has remained mostly silent about her gay subjects, and out of the 14 countries she is head of state, nine of them consider homosexuality to be a criminal act.

But despite this, she gave same-sex marriage her royal assent, the stamp of approval given to bills passed by UK parliament.

The Westboro Baptist Church is banned from the entering the UK, with Fred Phelps and Shirley Phelps-Roper specifically not allowed for 'inciting hatred'.
