Chef Anthony Bourdain is putting his
support behind the Human
Right Campaign's Americans for Marriage Equality project.
The Emmy award winning cook makes a
case for same-sex marriage in a one-minute video (see below).
'A common thread of the people I
admire – whoever they are, wherever they are – are people who are proud and do
things with love, and feel a sense of responsibility to others,' Bourdain
says.
'What sensible person could be
against that,' he continues.
His CNN show, Anthony
Bourdain: Parts Unknown, has won a Peabody and Emmy.
'We are incredibly grateful to
Anthony for his commitment to equality and for speaking out in favor of
marriage rights for loving gay and lesbian couples nationwide,' Charles
Joughin, HRC spokesperson, said in a statement.
The Americans
for Marriage Equality initiative is public engagement campaign
featuring prominent Americans who support committed gay and lesbian couples
getting married.
Since 2012, politicians, actors,
activists, and celebrities have recorded videos for HRC, the largest LGBTI
civil rights organization in the US.
Good for him! Thanks for posting this!
