I AM...

I am whatever YOU think I am until YOU get to KNOW me. This is true for everyone else too, of course.. so don't make assumptions about anyone or pass judgment; ask questions. You might just make a new friend.

A RECIPE FOR 'HURTING LOVE'

A recipe for ‘hurting love’ is to give where it’s rotating between ‘nothing and everything’. Few people have met themselves yet, but look to meet another who hasn't either. Two people who haven’t risen in inner love with themselves and finding each other, is a train wreck waiting to happen. Not loving yourself, and wanting it from another is an example of love’s greed that doesn't give back. Love is a fussy thing when it comes to wanting all or nothing, but is often caught between agony and pleasure.

Anyone divided against themselves is not going to find the ‘love glue’ from another, who is likely another ‘broken wing of love’. Love in it’s chameleon form of changing with the winds of alternating moods, is nothing but a chaotic mixture for pleasure and pain never ending. Most are not raised with the warm love that is needed for inner happiness, but ‘love mixed with hidden unresolved parents issues’. Leaving the ‘nest of childhood’ is an opportunity to fill in the cracks for an even stronger, loving you, but ego keeps one from seeing the picture that is, and can be.

IN THE LIFE MEDIA: FOSTER CARE'S INVISIBLE YOUTH

There are approximately 400,000 youth in foster care in the United States. A disproportionate number of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning (LGBTQ) children end up in the system, though an exact count is unknown.

This month on IN THE LIFE, seven LGBTQ youth from the foster care system share their stories. Failed by their families, these young people go on to face rejection from foster families, invisibility within the system and incredible obstacles to healthy development.

OBSESSED WITH HIS EX...

I often wonder if Facebook was built so that we could spy on each other without being easily detected. Although it can’t be proven, I’m pretty sure that a sizeable amount of Facebook’s current stockholders are also male “stalk-holders” in their man’s current or former affairs. Aside from keeping a comfortable tab on his daily routine, some men LOVE to nose around in his past and do a little “routine check” on what life was like before them.

Whether it’s an urge that sparks from a simple thought like: “Why does it seem like all of his other boyfriends are cuter than me?” Thoughts like this is damaging & is a sign of insecurity and chip away at a man’s ability to be what his boyfriend needs now, versus a potential blue print of what he left behind.

IMHO, the only thing to gain from opening up the closed doors in your ex’s former life is allowing in a slew of problems that were never there before. Whether you know it or not, now you have a dozen unanswered questions.

So tell me have you ever been obsessed with your boyfriend's ex?

"RuPAULs ALL STAR DRAG RACE" RECAP: A QUEEN IS CROWNED

In approaching this episode, I have some PTSD (Previously Tricked Stress Drag-order). Yes, this is supposed to be the finale, and I can only hope there are viewing parties where people drink every time Chad makes a Hunger Games reference or Ru breaks out a new pun. Still, no volume of tweets from @RuPaulsDragRace was going to convince me that this would be the actual finale until a crown was placed on some queen’s wig. I refused to be duped again.

And I wasn’t. There was no live show (all that tweeting was for… fun?). There was a winner, and she was crowned after conquering a grueling comedy triathlon.

RuPaul wastes no time breaking down the challenge for our girls: an interview, a red-carpet speech, and a stand-up routine. It’s a departure from the choreography-heavy, “dance in front of this green screen for my music video” finales we’ve seen, but a much better judge of a queen’s charisma, uniqueness, nerve, and talent.

THE FIRST MAN CURE OF HIV SHARES HIS EXPERIENCE

Although the first cancer specialist I saw had a gut feeling that it wasn’t anything serious, a bone marrow biopsy yielded a diagnosis of acute myeloid leukemia. That was a bigger shock than finding out I had HIV. I was leery about going to the hospital, because my partner had been treated badly there after telling the nurses he had HIV. So the doctor made calls instead to a hospital linked with Berlin University—and he happened to get Gero Hütter on the phone. Gero said, “Send him over!” So I found out I had leukemia, and the next day I was in the hospital receiving chemotherapy.

Dr. Hütter was young, and in medical school he had learned that people with a certain genetic mutation, called CCR5-delta-32, are essentially immune to HIV because their cells lack an entry point for the virus. Before my third round of chemo, I’d had blood taken for a possible stem cell transplant to cure the leukemia, and Dr. Hütter found an unusually high number of matches for me. That gave him an idea: Why not look for a CCR5-negative donor? Would those stem cells essentially grow me a new immune system, uninfected with HIV?

…For people who receive stem cell transplants, the day of their transplant is called their “birthday.” On February 7, 2007, I had my first birthday. Three months after that, tests showed no sign of HIV in my blood. Dr. Hütter asked me if I would do a colonoscopy so they could look for signs of HIV in colon tissue; they didn’t find any.

That’s when I started to hear the word “cured.”

THE WINNER OF RuPAULs ALL STARS DRAG RACE IS...

Chad Michaels.

Hey, don’t bitch that we spoiled it for you!  Didn’t you read the headline?

And anyway, it’s not exactly an upset: Chad is one of the strongest contenders the show has ever seen, and she’s won almost all the challenges this season. (Let’s face it, Chad was just nice enough to let Shannel share the wins with her.)

Mother Dust, who was a fan fave in Season Four, was crowned winner after the runway and final Lip Synch for your Life against Raven.

We’ll have deeper analysis of the big finale tomorrow in our last Drag Strip recap. And remember, tuckle up for safety!
