THROW BACK VIDEO: REAL LOVE

"Real
Love" is a 1992 hit single by hip hop soul singer Mary J. Blige.
It was the second single from Blige's debut album, What's the 411?.
Written and produced by Mark C. Rooney and Mark Morales (of The Fat Boys fame)
and built off a drum sample fromhip hop duo Audio Two's
1988 track "Top Billin'" and MC Lyte's
song "10% Diss". It was one of the songs which gave Blige's
reputation as "the queen of hip-hop soul."

"Real Love" was her first
top-ten pop hit,
peaking at number seven on the Billboard Hot 100,
and her second number one hit on Billboard's R&B singles chart.[1] The
remix featured the second appearance of rapper The Notorious B.I.G., who was then going by the
name Biggie Smalls, and a sample of Betty Wright's
1972 single, "Clean Up Woman." The song eventually helped What's
the 411? sell more than three million copies in America alone.

The song has since been covered by Mike Doughty (on
his 2000 LP Skittish), by Toby Lightman (on
her 2004 album Little Things) and the Twilight Singers (on
their 2004 album She Loves You), as well as
by a dancehall artist by the name of Fiona.

In 2007, the song was sampled on
"Real Love", an album-track that appears on rapper/singer Eve's
album Here I Am which features Mary J. Blige
herself. In addition, Lloyd Banks sampled the drum beat on his single Help which
featured Keri Hilson.

In 2010, the song was used as the
theme to the TV One reality television dating game show The Ultimate Merger, which is produced by Donald Trump and
stars former Apprentice contestant Omarosa.

The backing beat has been sampled by
R&B group, Dru Hill in the track, "Whatever You Want" from
their 1996 self-titled debut album. R&B singer Frank Ocean uses
the chorus for his song "Super Rich Kids" in his album Channel Orange.

BENEFITS OF WAKING UP EARLY

Early to bed and early to rise makes you healthy, wealthy as well as wise. And that is not merely an age-old saying. It works in daily life too.

1. Time to Exercise

Waking up early
gives you the time to exercise. You can easily go for a jog, do a few laps in
the pool, practice yoga or hit the gym with plenty of time at hand.

2. Time to Meditate
There is nothing like beginning the day with a dose of meditation. It will help calm your mind and sharpen your reflexes to keep you going through your busy schedule of work.

3. Experience the Charm of the Morning
Only an early morning person knows the charm and serenity that those hours offer. The silence, the birds chirping, the absence of cars honking, and the sunrise are all advantages only early rising can offer.

4. Increase
Productivity and Efficiency

A study conducted at the Texas University in 2008 revealed that early risers are more prone to be productive and efficient at work. In fact, students who wake up early are known to get higher grades than those who wake up late.

5. Eating Breakfast
Breakfast is known to be the most important meal of the day. Often, you may land up skipping it if you are running late for work. An early start to the day ensures that this significant meal is never given the slip.

6. Less Stress
Giving you ample time to get ready on time, waking up early ensures that you suffer less stress. Beat the traffic and drive to work at ease.

7. Set Routine
Once you get into the habit of rising early, you are able to set a routine and that obviously leads to better productivity not only at work, but also on the home front and as an individual.

8. Brighter Mood
Early risers are known to be happier and more optimistic than night owls. The latter are known to suffer depression, insomnia and pessimism. The bright start with exercise and optimism is bound to keep you feeling energised and optimistic all day.

9. Better Health

Proper routine and
exercise are known factors in ensuring better health in the long run. Waking up
early ensures you set aside time to work out. Late risers lack the advantage of
time for this.

10. Better Finances

Improved health,
enhanced productivity and ameliorated energy can only result in one thing – a
higher rate of success. And when this happens in your career, can financial
triumph be far behind? So, rise early to kickstart a really great way of doing
well in the professional sphere as well.

The benefits of
waking up early are myriad. It doesn’t take much to change your lifestyle to
avail these benefits. After all, personal and professional well-being, and
ultimate success are what everyone seeks. So, why not adopt a healthier way of
living and reap those benefits?

NATIONAL GAY MEN'S HIV/AIDS AWARENESS DAY

Welcome to National Gay Men's HIV/AIDS Awareness Day (NGMHAAD),
September 27, 2012! NAPWA founded NGMHAAD in 2008 to help gay men remember how
much we have accomplished together in the fight against HIV/AIDS, remember the
quarter-million lovers and brothers we have lost, and renew our commitment to
ending what is now an endable epidemic.

NGMHAAD calls on gay men across the
United States to remember that the end of the HIV/AIDS epidemic may be in
sight, but the epidemic isn't over -- and men who have sex with men are still
at high risk. The number of gay men already living with HIV in this country may
be as high as 1 in every 8, so we have to protect ourselves. Play safe!

NGMHAAD calls on gay men to lead the
movement to end the epidemic. We know now how to do it. Routine HIV testing for
all, every 3 to 6 months for gay men and others in high-risk groups. Immediate
access to HIV treatment and support services for everyone who tests positive.
An end to the HIV stigma and homophobia that keep too many of us from even
getting tested. Because it's much harder for us to pass our virus on to others when
we are getting effective treatment.

And NGMHAAD calls on gay men to be proud. Love is good. Sex is
good.
Our love is
good.

Pride is power! Help NAPWA end this
epidemic -- BECAUSE WE MATTER!

SCANDAL SEASON 2: ¿R U GONNA WATCH?

Stars: Kerry
Washington, Tony Goldwyn, Columbus Short, Darby Stanchfield, Katie Lowes,
Guillermo Diaz, Joshua Malina, Jeff Perry

Premiere date: September 27

It's no mystery that Hollywood isn't exactly a fruitful terrain for
black actresses looking to expand their portfolios beyond sassy love interest
parts and insufferable Tyler Perry movies. So kudos to the gifted
Kerry Washington for landing a formidable character in ABC's politically
charged, deftly conceived drama Scandal.

At the forefront minute by minute, Washington (who'll soon keep her hot streak going in Quentin Tarantino'sDjango Unchained)
is all imposing presence and commanding energy as a crisis management expert
tasked with keeping staff members inside the White House from monumentally
tarnishing their careers. Easier said than done, of course, but Scandal's
nonstop CNN-serving conflicts afford Washington with plenty of room to show and
prove.

MODERN FAMILY SEASON 4: R U GONNA WATCH?

Stars: Ty
Burrell, Julia Bowen, Sofia Vergara, Ed O’Neill, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Eric
Stonestreet, Sarah Hyland, Ariel Winter, Rico Rodriguez, Nolan Gould, Aubrey
Anderson-Emmons
Premiere date: September 26

Up until now, ABC's Modern
Family
has coasted on its uniformly likable and expertly written
characters, top-shelf comedic performances, and consistency, all of which, of
course, make for a sitcom of the highest quality.

There's no reason to wonder if the
Dunphys will lose any of their hilariousness at any point in season four, but
here's the rub: In the behind-the-scenes world of Modern Family,
this past summer was mostly spent battling through contentious salary
re-negotiations. The end result is that the cast will reportedly make upwards
of $175,000 per episode throughout this 22-episode season. That's a lot of
scratch. Now all they have to do is continue to justify such large paydays.

EVERY NIGHT...

Every night before going to bed, he would brush
his teeth and make a preemptive attempt to void his bladder. He then walked
into his closet, got on his knees in front of the shoe rack and prayed to a god
whose unlikely existence he likened to an ongoing quantum event. In his mind,
the act of kneeling mattered not at all to this supposed god. He could just as
well pray standing naked on his head with his ass serving as a fleshy vase for
a bouquet of flowers. The penitential pose was only useful as a demonstration
of his humility in the face of the infinite (although when things were going
his way, it was more of a feigned humility). The prayers themselves mostly
consisted of thanking his sub-atomic almighty verb for assembling an
infrastructure that allowed for life to exist. This included, in no particular
order, the various laws of physics, gravity, organic chemistry and
thermodynamics. And, since it was his belief that sentient life was created by
an insentient universe in order for the insentient universe to be admired, he
made an effort in his prayers to tell the insentience, "nice work" or
"way to go". Finally, he would close with a plea for this nameless
everything to look after the less fortunate. "Please god, despite the clear
evidence that it's not in your nature to care, bring love and happiness to all
the souls who suffer." Then, his heart filled with grace, he would climb
into bed and sleep peacefully until he dreamed he was standing in his closet
and peeing on his shoes - god's clever way of telling him he had to wake up and
go to the bathroom.
