I AM...

I am whatever YOU think I am until YOU get to KNOW me. This is true for everyone else too, of course.. so don't make assumptions about anyone or pass judgment; ask questions. You might just make a new friend.

CORY BOOKER'S OPPONENT FOR US SENATE SEAT QUESTIONS HIS SEXUALITY & MASCULINITY

US Senate candidate Cory Booker of New Jersey has gotten a lot of attention in recent days for stating he thinks it's 'wonderful' when some people think he's gay.

His Republican opponent, Steve Lonegan, has responded by not only questioning Booker's sexuality, but also his masculinity.

'Maybe that helps to get him the gay vote by acting ambiguous,' Lonergan tells Newsmax.com.

Then he adds his own speculation: 'I don’t know if you saw the stories [about Booker] last year. They’ve been out for quite a bit about how he likes to go out at three o’clock in the morning for a manicure and a pedicure.'

Lonergan makes clear he would not be out at that hour or any hour doing such things.

'I don’t like going out in the middle of the night, or any time of the day, for a manicure and pedicure,' he says. 'It was described as his peculiar fetish ... I have a more peculiar fetish. I like a good Scotch and a cigar. That’s my fetish but we’ll just compare the two.'

Booker is the mayor of Newark, New Jersey, and a rising political star. He's 44 and indicated to the Washington Post in a recent interview that he is not bothered by speculation about his sexuality and makes no effort to clarify it.

'...People who think I’m gay, some part of me thinks it’s wonderful. Because I want to challenge people on their homophobia,' he says.

'I love seeing on Twitter when someone says I’m gay, and I say, "So what does it matter if I am? So be it. I hope you are not voting for me because you are making the presumption that I’m straight."'

  2. Typical GOP tactic: fuel homophobia. What else is new? Don't they know this strategy is very old by now? Take care and stay bare!

  6. My hat is off ti Booker. Lonegan cant attack him on the issues so has to blow the dog whistle to bring out the homophobes. I think we have reached the day and age where that bullshit doesnt work. Next payday im contributing to Bookers campaign even if its just $10.We have to put our money where our mouths are and bury these crusty Republicans Iin the dust.
