You go out to a club, you drink a lot, and you meet somebody and
have sex with them...
You can say the impulsiveness of the situation made you forget his name, which might actually be true. I've said for that reason, and it's been said to me. For it's quiet believable, and only a guy with an overblown ego would get offended.
