Shortly after
announcing that filming of the upcoming third season was underway, Hulu’s teen
comedy series Love, Victor has announced that the new season will also be its last.
The streamer
unveiled the news at its TCA presentation today that Love, Victor will
end after its eight-episode final season, which will premiere on June 15. All
eight episodes will debut on Hulu at the same time.
Just three
days ago, we got the first pic of the cast all together ready to film season
three, and now, we’re finding out that it will also be the end of the series.
On Instagram,
the cast celebrated that they’re coming back for a third season by posting a
video showing them all passing the phone to other cast members. “I’m passing
the phone to one of the best kissers I know,” Michael Cimino, who stars as
titular character Victor, says before the phone goes to George Sear, who plays
Benji.
Based on, and
following the events of the movie Love, Simon, Love, Victor followed
Latino teen Victor Salazar, a new student at Creekwood High who reaches out to
Simon for advice when he starts to figure out his sexuality.
Over two
seasons, we’ve seen Victor grow into himself and find friendship, acceptance,
and love as the gay person he is. The show has followed his relationship with
Benji, who started the series being out. At the end of season two, Victor is
left with a choice between going back to Benji, or following his new feelings for
another boy, Rahim.
The upcoming
third season will see Victor having to go through even more self-discovery, as
he not only has to choose who he wants to date, but what he wants to do with
his life now that he’s out of high school.
Love, Victor also stars Rachel Hilson, Anthony Turpel, Bebe Wood, Mason
Gooding, Isabella Ferreira, Mateo Fernandez, James Martinez, Ana Ortiz, Anthony
Keyvan, and Ava Capri.
The final
season of Love, Victor will premiere on Hulu on June 15.
Season 1 and 2 are currently streaming now.
