Leave it to
Ellen DeGeneres to cleverly make fun of the controversy that has been brewing
ever since Starbucks introduced its new minimalistic red holiday cups.
Starbucks is
under fire from some Christians who say the designs lack the Christmas spirit
such earlier versions that featured such things as snowflakes, snowmen and
holiday trees.
‘Look at this
cup,’ DeGeneres said this week. ‘You might as well call it a Satan sipper’
She added: ‘Now
this holiday season if you want Christmas with your breakfast you are going to
have to do it the old fashioned way. You have to get really, really high and
then you have to go to iHop and just stare at your pancakes and go, “I see baby
Jesus in there.”‘
For those who
want to stick with Starbucks, DeGeneres suggests wearing a pair of ‘Starbucks
holiday vision glasses’ so that ‘you see Christmas everywhere you look. … Don’t
wear them when you’re driving but if you do, let Jesus take the wheel.’
It's funny. :) Ellen always delivers the goods.
