I AM...

I am whatever YOU think I am until YOU get to KNOW me. This is true for everyone else too, of course.. so don't make assumptions about anyone or pass judgment; ask questions. You might just make a new friend.

¿CAN A.I. CREATE A MORE DIVERSE QUEER COMMUNITY?

The best pride organizer might just be the computer sitting on your desk. Think about it, artificial intelligence can go through all online profiles and find what the community really needs to offer a diverse balance month of pride.

Most humans, on the other hand, will rely on biases — whether they are aware of them or not — to get them through the selection process. This is sadly why see the things that showcase the negative moments of pride.

AI, can change that, a computer that believes that diversity and inclusion are essential to the growth and prosperity of our community today. When woven into every aspect of the life cycle, queer communities committed to diversity and inclusion are the best equipped to in becoming what it’s meant to be.

What are you thoughts?

  1. I think our pride committee, here in Mpls., does a very good job of being inclusive. I have heard no complaints. I do have one... I get that corporate sponsorship is important and that it helps covers costs... putting on something as large as Mpls. Pride has got to be very expensive... but I do feel that we've sold our soul (and festival space) to large corporations - Target takes over a huge section of our space. It's a minor complaint, but I would rather see an organic gay-owned soap company and 20 other vendors use that space, rather than one soul-sucking corporation.
