It’s one thing
to sing a song as challenging, and as famous as, ‘Hero’ — it’s another to
perform it live in front of its original singer Mariah Carey.
Former Glee
star Alex Newell, 23, sang ‘Hero’ in honor of Mariah who’s
the Ally Award recipient at Saturday’s GLAAD Media
Awards held in New York City.
Mariah was seen
visibly touched by the moving performance by Newell, who totally slayed the
high notes.
The crowd even
gave a standing ovation at the end of Newell’s spectacular solo.
