In recognition
of Black History Month, onePULSE Foundation is hosting a free virtual screening
of the award-winning short documentary, “Body Language,” followed by a
thought-provoking discussion with the filmmaker, Odu Adamu, and guest panelists
on Wednesday, February 15, from 7 to 9pm.
How does it
feel to look in the mirror and body shame yourself? When the body you have just
isn’t enough? When your body doesn’t live up to the standards imposed onto you
by your own community? How does it feel? The screening and panel discussion
will explore body image through the lens of African American same-gender-loving
men.
In addition to
Adamu, panelists will include Daniel Downer, Bros in Convo, and Will
McKinney-Raphelt, featured in “Body Language.”
The event is
part of onePULSE’s Conversation Starters, which is a component of a broader
Conversation Series, sponsored by JPMorgan Chase & Co., CITY Furniture,
Orlando Utilities Commission, and Northrop Grumman.
