The 13
contestants vying for the title of America’s Next Drag Superstar on season nine
of RuPaul’s Drag Race have been revealed.
‘Drastic
Times calls for DRAGTASTIC Measures!’ the show said on Twitter today.
The
competitors include London native Charlie Hides and Trinity Taylor who won the
title of Miss Pulse in 2011 at the Orlando, Florida nightclub.
Four of the
competitors are from New York City with the rest from Las Vegas, Atlanta,
Chicago, and Los Angeles.
The rest are:
Meet Aja, Alexis Michelle, Eureka, Farrah Moan, Jaymes Mansfield, Kimora Blac,
Nina Bo’Nina Brown, Peppermint, Sasha Velour, Shea Couleé, and Valentina.
‘Season nine
is going to be, I don’t even know. These bitches are crazy,’ Aja says in a
introductory video.
The reality
show competition has steadily gained popularity, spawned spinoffs and made
stars out of Bianca Del Rio, Sharon Needles and others. RuPaul won his first
Emmy last year as host of the show.
