¡7 SURPRISING THINGS HOOKUPS CAN CURE!

That gay hookup you’ve got planned may have hidden health benefits!

Gay hookups are nothing new – particularly in an age of apps like Grindr and Scruff. But beyond the physical pleasure they bring, are there really any tangible health benefits? For example, might you experience something that goes beyond the mere release of immediate stress?

It turns out the answer is – yes! Well, that’s what the research seems to suggest. We’ve decided to comb through some peer reviewed journals, Internet sources and medical websites to find out specifics. What follows is a basic rundown of quick list of 7 surprising things hookups can cure that you might not know.

Are you ready? Let’s jump right in!

  1. Common Cold

Believe it or not, hookups (aka sex) has been clinically shown to have immune-boosting benefits that are thought to help prevent and even cure the common cold. When you hookup, you release the anti-body immunoglobulin A. The research tells us this specific anti-body helps to kill the gold dead in its tracks.

  1. Headaches

Appearing in Cephalalgia (this is the Journal of the International Headache Society), a research study revealed that more than half of those suffering from migraines who had a sexual experience realized symptom improvement. What’s more, 20 percent of participants saw their headaches go away entirely.

The researchers think this has something to do with the endorphins being released during sex. “Our results show that sexual activity during a migraine attack might relieve or even stop an attack in some cases, and that sexual activity in the presence of headache is not an unusual behavior. Sex can abort migraine and cluster headache attacks, and sexual activity is used by some patients as acute headache treatment.”

  1. Sleeplessness

If you have ever suffered from sleeplessness (aka insomnia), you know how frustrating it can be. Well, if you hookup more you might get a better night’s sleep! It turns out that when you get your mojo on, your body releases a hormone called oxytocin (the spooning hormone) which makes you tired and sleepy. Isn’t that cool?

  1. Depression

This one is probably a no-brainer. When you hookup, your body releases brain chemicals that rush throughout your body, creating feelings of wholeness, wellness and happiness. And as wild as this may sound, oral fun can help fight back against depression. Well, at least in women according to health officials over in the UK!

  1. Hiccups

Ever get a case of the hiccups? You know, the kind that come one after another and just don’t seem to stop? They can be embarrassing for sure. Apparently, if you stimulate the vagus nerve just right, it can stop those menacing hiccups right away. Don’t take our word for it but instead, read about it in this clinical research study!

  1. Heart Conditions

An often forgotten part of the body is your ticker. Aside from watching your weight, not smoking and eating a healthy diet, what else can you do to prevent heart disease? Well, a research study conducted in 2010 involving 1000 men suggests that if you make an erotic connection at least 2x a week, you are less likely to develop a serious heart condition compared to guys who just “did it” once a month. Better fire up Scruff boys – tick tock!

  1. Visible Signs of Aging

We’ve written about how to prevent aging before and even made suggestions about how to get your sexy daddy on. Well, back in 2013, Dr. David Weeks from the Royal Edinburgh Hospital presented at the British Psychological conference and suggested that sex helps to contribute to the quality of life in major ways. And according to the clinical research, people who had active sex lives looked anywhere from five to seven years younger than their true age. Who needs Botox with those kinds of results? Time to restock on your personal lube.

  1. Unfortunately, Covid is preventing me from enjoying many of my preventative care initiatives... I called my healthcare provider and it turns out glory holes are not covered under my current insurance. :(
