I AM...

I am whatever YOU think I am until YOU get to KNOW me. This is true for everyone else too, of course.. so don't make assumptions about anyone or pass judgment; ask questions. You might just make a new friend.

PREP, CONDOMS & YOU...

You about to have sex with a hot guy. A super hot guy. You are lying back on his bed thinking that he might actually be the most muscle-pumped guy you’ve ever jumped into the sack with. All is going great. And from the way he’s twerking around on top of you, he’s making it clear that he wants to get fucked.
‘Do you want me to put a condom on?’ I ask, expecting him to immediately say ‘yes.’

‘I hate condoms,’ he says firmly. ‘You are on PrEP.’

There’s a pause. He awaits my response.

‘Oh. Well, I only use condoms,’ I say.

‘Are you negative?’ he asks.

‘Yes. But I still only wear condoms. Sorry.’
He sighs and there’s the very slightest eye roll. Yes, an actual eye roll.

He doesn’t get up to get a condom and doesn’t ask you to get one. So, you end up not fucking.

The remainder of the sex is still great and – for you – satisfying, but afterwards, you still can’t get the eye-roll out of your head.
As gay men, we’ve found myself in situations before where condoms haven’t been used. It was nearly always in the heat of the moment. It was always, inevitably, followed by feelings of regret and fear.

Does situations like that these make you feel like you are… Prissy? Overly cautious? A spoilsport?

  1. I really feel sorry for moments like this but glad that though I tripped, PeP the before 72hours emergency pill saved my Status. PrEP is the Gospel now...but still a combination prevention to keep off Stis...nice piece bro.

  2. Thank you for bringing this topic up. I can't tell you how many time I get hit up on the app, and guys want me raw! To make it worst, these guys are well built handsome and convincing. However, I have to turn them down on the offer. I always think about my consequence when this arises and don't want to ruin it for the possibility of meeting Mr. Right tomorrow.

  3. Over cautious!
It upsets me that now we have PReP a bunch of dudes are having raw with many strangers. There are other STDs to worry about too other than HIV.
You could still have great sex with condoms, why turn it down ?
To me to be safe first time always condoms n if it becomes a regular thing I started using prep for that guy and we would have great sex all the time.

I've also used prep when dating someone poz & undectable.

But it makes me over cautious when guys now have raw with anybody because theres a pill now. SMH
