Forging a spiritual connection with THE divine is the ultimate goal of many forms of worship. In their devotions, they try to transcend the limitations of humanity using prayers, rituals, and invocations with the intent of being human with each other. As a nonbeliever of religion, I have heard MANY arguments for religion and how it is ordained by God, they go on AND on about religion being real because they can feel it in their hearts N’ souls…funny how that isn’t the only thing they feel. They say, ‘God is love,’ but have a weird way of showing it to their fellow man. Ever since human beings could speak to one another, they have been making promises and keeping them or not keeping them. Those who keep their promises are regarded as people of integrity, while those who don’t keep their promises are regarded as people who at best can’t be taken seriously and @ worst can’t be seen as human. From my perspective and with the Bahamas being a ‘Christian’ nation I can’t help but hang my head in shame from how we treat each other…ESPECIALLY when we come in contact with someone that is less fortunate than ourselves.
Last week while waiting for my take-out, there was a man there begging persons for money, be it a quarter or dollar and he got deafening silence. I gave him the change I got from purchasing my food; however the other persons there were showing this man that he was a nuisance to them. I just looked and observed, men and women dressed up from head to toe fussing about this man should find a job and leave them alone and I couldn’t help but think, how are these folks going to see their ‘god’s’ face with attitudes like this? Don’t they realize how powerful their actions are? How can they treat another human who is their equal in such a callous manner?
Money is just energy that changes the circumstances of all on this planet and to deny someone that energy CANNOT BE RIGHT WITH ANY GOD! Talk about the inconsistency of God fearing folks huh? ‘God’ can’t be real if religious worshipers perceive him/ her with such HORRID perceptions of each other…right? How can I look @ that man, I more or less agree about what I am looking @, but have a different reaction to help him? Unless I am hallucinating, deranged OR literally unable to see, shouldn’t we all agree on the fact that this man standing in front of each of us is there to show how inhumane our humanity can be? If they hope to see their ‘God’s’ face, why not remotely see his creation the way he asked them to?
The ONLY explanation, of course, is that this man’s problem really does NOT exist; and they disagree SO radically over what he is because they don’t perceive anything REAL about him. They ‘perceive’ something made up; something they were taught to believe; something that part of their brains conceive but…This blatant act of inhumanity says, there is NO agreement whatsoever as to what ‘God’ wants from them because trying to SEE THEIR ‘GOD’S’ FACE is something that is said in theory ONLY!
