¿DID I MISS MY CALLING?

Over time I’ve come to understand that I can manifest what I want through affirmations as if I have already obtained what I want. The creative power of the universe is infinite…However, within my human potential and being sentient beings, I got a chance to ask myself, DID I MISS MY CALLING? You see as a little boy my dream was to become a doctor. I wasn’t good with science, but I had such yearning for wanting to provide people with healing that I willed myself to get better @ science…And for a while things were fine. As I got near the time to leave high school, I came to realize that being a doctor is something I couldn’t afford to study in college as there were NO funds for me to go to college. I felt that the universe didn’t heed my desires and left me in a place where I had to walk away from being a doctor.

Now the other day I chose to get a LONG over due check up @ one of the local clinics (YAY SOCIALISM) and after sitting in the waiting room dressed up in my shirt N’ tie, I couldn’t help but feel out of place. The amount of eyes that were on me said, WHAT THE HELL IS SOMEONE LIKE HIM DOING HERE? I just looked around and saw SO many ill persons. When their names were called it took them a few minutes to get to the examining room and some of the persons working there just seemed as if they had no PATIENCE…(go figure) RIGHT? I remember this one lady who came with her mother and EVERYTHING inside of me went out to her…she was pregnant and had fallen the night before so she and her mother came to check her out. I said a little pray to the universe asking them to keep this child safe because it was SO obvious that the mother wouldn’t be able to care for it. She was SO dirty, her feet, her nails, and the clothes she had on were like WHOA!

Even as I sit and write this entry, I can’t help but think how DESTINY is such an elusive concept. With that in mind do you think that I didn’t follow my heart’s desire of becoming a doctor because I limited my potential to small selection of roles and unconscious character traits by accepting that I couldn’t go to college to become doctor even if I didn’t accurately represent the notion of my TRUE “self?” Did I succumb to the confusion surrounding my TRUE nature that is compounded by the fact that society asked me to suppress my emotional, intellectual, and spiritual vibrancy? I ask these questions because I can clearly remember applying for a job as a messenger of an offshore company here and being told that I shouldn’t bother because I have NO office experience by persons in my neighborhood. So if they didn’t think I could reach that, what do you think about my becoming a doctor?

I was/am a being of light that has ALWAYS been striving for enlightenment while living my earthly life. If only I had come to understand that my TRUE self exist whether I acknowledge it or not…it was just buried under fears and learned behavior. Why didn’t I have someone back then tell me that MY DESTINY is a product of MY own creation? Was it TOO hard for someone to say to me, even when it seems you have nowhere left to turn, there is a solution waiting for you? But all in all I get that UNCERTAINTY WILL ALWAYS be a part of MY existence, but perseverance and mindfulness will never fail to see me through to the other side…So as I sit here and think about my visit to the clinic, I am sure that I will wonder from time to time if being a doctor was in fact my TRUE calling. However I MUST remember that I MUST allow my life to unfold like a flower rather than worrying and making predictions. Because the guided natural rhythm that is particular to each of us cannot be altered.

ACTING BRAND NEW...

Boy meets boy,
Tells you this story about how innocent N’ guiltless he is…
Bottom tells a top that he usually doesn't do this,
Top says he usually doesn't do this but…
They are acting brand new so…

EVERYTHING GOES!
All up on each other
And it's not even hard yet
trying to get that pull N’ blow.

Playing the game of:
Seeing how big the sexual tension can get before…
He, they can take it.
Can't they?

Suck it down
Sure you LOVE the taste
Creamy N’ Sweet
Satisfying in all the right spots

After all he is here to deliver,
He is here to coat you in juice…
To pleasure DEEP inside you
Pounding you until…

Your soul screams
For more
leaving you,
Wanting for him but…

You can’t cause:
He is LONG gone
Now you have to act all brand new…
Taking your game to the next one!

Hoping N’ praying that
The one you just meet on BGC/ADAM4ADAM
Showing the pix of his manly assets isn’t just…
But isn’t he really?

Women have tried for years,
But to NO avail…
What makes him think that
Acting brand new is going to change a thing?
The truth is, we are all illusionists
And that's why we are attracted to “IT”
This whole world is an illusion.
It's not real.

The truth of how we experience each other
Has NOTHING to do with religion
Or the type of car that we drive
Or the size of the dick N’ ass…

So ask yourself,
Romance OR retreat?
Has anything changed?
Just years of make-out partners N’ (un)steady boyfriends…

Who's in control?
All this tug N’ release affection,
@ Some point we will stop acting…RIGHT?
Cause we have to see that that the strength of a man CANNOT exist if we are ONLY brand new for him…

TRUE BLOOD: SEASON 3, EPISODE 3 – IT HURTS ME TOO

The shot Sookie fired at the end of last week’s True Blood, at the werewolf? Eric dove for it at the start of this week’s episode and intercepted it… and then killed the werewolf himself. (Eric to Sookie, mouth dripping: “I got your rug all wet.”) Other tidied-up plot danglers from last week: The set-aflame Lorena was rolled up in one of Russell’s valuable rugs, smothering the fire but not, unfortunately, Lorena. Russell resumed his verbal seduction of Bill, more “working together” stuff, plus a heartfelt, “Why not turn her?” in regard to Sookie. Russell compared his happy, centuries-long relationship with Talbot to Bill’s comparatively recent one with Sookie. But Bill doesn’t want to turn Sookie into an undead — it carries too many bad memories, of which we saw plenty this week.

Oh, yes, this was one of those Bill revisits his past when he was married-with-children hours, with plenty of moments of wife Caroline’s anguish over Bill’s long absence from her, lo those many years ago. We saw Bill’s little son in a coffin, dead from “the pox,” and our hero pleading with Caroline to understand that “My human life was taken from me… I’ve come here to bury my son.” Instead, Caroline, so undone by Bill’s return, pleads for him to kill her. Or, at least, these were Bill’s visions as we saw them while he slept in Russell’s house. I should think Russell’s gaudy digs would give anyone nightmares.

My favorite new character, the grizzled-yet-sexy Franklin, engaged in sex with Tara, then sought to extract info from her about Bill and Sookie. And in one of those how-did-the-writers-do-that? twists that True Blood can pull off so well, Franklin helped out poor, desperate Jessica, still saddled with her dead-trucker-corpse problem. Except that now her problem was that the corpse had disappeared. But — phew! — Franklin showed up with the victim’s head from this guy in a bag, a little gift for Jessica. “That’s my job; I find things,” he said. I could watch a show separate spin-off show starring James Frain — Franklin: Vampire Detective — couldn’t you?

The other newbie for the series was the full-fledged introduction of Alcide (Joe Manganiello), who tells Sookie he was sent by Eric to protect her. Sookie takes him up on his offer and they go to a werewolf bar for clues as to Bill’s whereabouts, with Sookie reading the minds of licking-their-chops-at-her werewolves. Alcide gets beaten up by these creature-guys; he’s earning Sookie’s (and our) trust here. Thus far, Alcide seems a little too tidy and unwarrantedly soulful, but that’s just a first impression; what do you think of him?
Biggest news on the Bill front? He’s decided to play along with Russell — to save Sookie, among other things. He renounced his loyalty to the Queen and pledged his fealty to Russell. In the end, however, the hour came back to Lorena, source of so much of Bill’s ongoing agony. Saying he’ll never love her, he bites her, they have vicious sex, and in a final twist, he twists her head 180 degrees while continuing to copulate, a neat, gruesome trick. Fade out with her cry to “William” that she still loves him.

Some other non-silver-bulleted details:

• What was up with Jason’s one-episode infatuation with becoming a deputy? I understand where the motivation came from — he was on a natural high from last week’s meth-lab bust — but the whole studying for the exam only to burn his application to the force; that can’t be the end of it. I think this is an itch he’ll come back to scratch again, don’t you?

• Yes, Arlene is pregnant; nine weeks’ worth. No, Terry is not the father.

• Talbot’s Zima joke marked him as a boy-toy with a limited sense of humor; frankly, I don’t see what Russell sees in him.

• Eric gave Lafayette his cool car for a buck, as a threat/incentive to sell more V. Head for the hills, dear Lafayette!

• Sam’s family remains something out of a Hee Haw sketch but with a nasty edge, as was proven when the clan came to Merlotte’s and Daddy Mickens let Sam’s underage brother Tommy guzzle liquor, much to Sam’s embarrassment and irritation. However, Sam’s mom seems like the nicest person she can be under the circumstances, those circumstances including being married to a man who looks absolutely frightening in a pair of filthy white underpants.

• It’s nice that Sookie paid for Eggs’ sparsely-attended funeral, but when she showed up to comfort Tara, my first thought was, “Wait, you’ve spent the previous two hours of True Blood frantic to go find Bill, and now you’re pausing to attend a funeral, after yelping at everyone you’ve encountered that ‘every minute counts’?” Friendship with Tara is a powerful thing, I guess. Admirable, but fluky in that ditzy way Sookie can be sometimes.

All in all, another jam-packed hour. But I definitely felt it wasn’t an excessively overloaded episode. Instead, the season is taking shape as a nicely complex study in clashing loyalties and the tragedy of deaths that haunt many of the central characters.

What did you think? And remember NO new episode until July 11, 2010!

A LETTER TO DR. LAURA SCHLESINGER

I FOUND THIS LITTLE GEM ON FELLOW BLOGGER THE JASON SHOW BLOG, SO I THOUGHT I'D SHARE IT WITH YOU...

In her radio show, Dr Laura Schlesinger said that, as an observant Orthodox Jew, homosexuality is an abomination according to Leviticus18:22, and cannot be condoned under any
circumstance.  The following response is an open letter to Dr. Laura, written by a US man, and
posted on the Internet. It's funny, as well as informative:

Dear Dr. Laura:

Thank you for doing so much to educate people regarding God's Law. I have learned a great deal from your show, and try to share that knowledge with as many people as I can.  When someone tries to defend
the homosexual lifestyle, for example, I simply remind them that Leviticus18:22 clearly states it to be an abomination ... End of debate.I do need some advice from you, however, regarding some other
elements of God's Laws and how to follow them.

1. Leviticus 25:44 states that I may possess slaves, both male and female, provided they are purchased from neighbouring nations.  A friend of mine claims that this applies to Mexicans, but not Canadians.  Can you clarify? Why can't I own Canadians?

2. I would like to sell my daughter into slavery, as sanctioned in Exodus 21:7.  In this day and age, what do you think would be a fair price for her?

3. I know that I am allowed no contact with a woman while she is in her period of Menstrual uncleanliness - Lev.15: 19-24.  The problem is how do I tell?  I have tried asking, but most women take offense.

4. When I burn a bull on the altar as a sacrifice, I know it creates a pleasing odor for the Lord - Lev.1:9.  The problem is my neighbors.  They claim the odor is not pleasing to them.  Should I smite them?

5. I have a neighbor who insists on working on the Sabbath.  Exodus 35:2 clearly states he should be put to death.  Am I morally obligated to kill him myself, or should I ask the police to do it?

6. A friend of mine feels that even though eating shellfish is an abomination, Lev. 11:10, it is a lesser abomination than homosexuality.  I don't agree.  Can you settle this?  Are there 'degrees' of abomination?

7. Lev. 21:20 states that I may not approach the altar of God if I have a defect in my sight.  I have to admit that I wear reading glasses.  Does my vision have to be 20/20, or is there some wiggle-room here?

8. Most of my male friends get their hair trimmed, including the hair around their temples, even though this is expressly forbidden by Lev. 19:27.  How should they die?

9. I know from Lev. 11:6-8 that touching the skin of a dead pig makes me unclean, but may I still play football if I wear gloves?

10. My uncle has a farm.  He violates Lev.19:19 by planting two different crops in the same field, as does his wife by wearing garments made of two different kinds of thread (cotton/polyester blend).  He also tends to curse and blaspheme a lot.  Is it really necessary that we go to all the trouble of getting the whole town
together to stone them? Lev.24:10-16. Couldn't we just burn them to death at a private family affair, like we do with people who sleep with their in-laws? (Lev. 20:14)

I know you have studied these things extensively and thus enjoy considerable expertise in such matters, so I'm confident you can help.Thank you again for reminding us that God's word is eternal and unchanging.

Your adoring fan.

EARTH SONG

"Earth Song" is the third single from Michael Jackson's album HIStory: Past, Present and Future, Book I. It is a ballad that incorporates elements of blues, gospel and opera. Jackson had a long-standing history of releasing socially conscious material such as "We Are the World", "Man in the Mirror" and "Heal the World". However, "Earth Song" was the first that overtly dealt with the environment and animal welfare. The song was written and composed by Jackson; the task of production was split between Jackson, David Foster and Bill Bottrell. Reviews were generally favorable, but some charged that the song sounded pompous, even if unintentional.

"Earth Song" was accompanied by a lavish music video shot on four geographical regions. It centered around the destruction and rebirth of Earth and went on to receive a Grammy nomination in 1997. The song was a top five hit in most European countries. In the UK, it remains Jackson's best-selling single. "Earth Song" was not released as a single in the United States. When Jackson performed the song at the 1996 BRIT Awards, Jarvis Cocker attempted to interrupt the show and stormed the stage, offended with the imagery presented. Jackson went on to receive recognition from various animal and environmental organizations.

BACKGROUND

Jackson already had a long-standing history of writing charitable or socially conscious material. As an adult Jackson used his fame and wealth to promote various causes. In 1985, he co-wrote the charity single "We Are the World" with Lionel Richie, which was released worldwide to aid the poor in Africa and the US. The single became one of the best-selling singles of all time, with nearly 20 million copies sold and millions of dollars donated to famine relief. It was also the first time Jackson was seen as a humanitarian.[1] All of the profits from his single "Man in the Mirror" went to charity.[2][3] Jackson founded the "Heal the World Foundation" in 1992, inspired by his charity single of the same name.[4][5]

Following the illness and death of Ryan White, Jackson helped draw public attention to HIV/AIDS, something that was still controversial at the time. He publicly pleaded with the Clinton Administration at Bill Clinton's Inaugural Gala to give more money to HIV/AIDS charities and research. He would go on to perform the song "Gone Too Soon" for White and other victims of the illness.

PRODUCTION & MUSIC

"Earth Song" was written and composed by Jackson in a hotel in Austria; production of the song was a collaborative effort between Jackson, David Foster and Bill Bottrell.[8] Andrae Crouch's Choir and Jackson engage in a back and forth chant as the song reaches its climatic finale.[9] Jackson's intent was to create a song that was lyrically deep yet melodically simple, so the whole world, particularly non-English-speaking fans, could sing along. He conceptualized a song that had an emotional message.[10] "Earth Song" is a ballad that incorporates elements of blues, gospel and opera. In the socially conscious track, Jackson issues a plea to God about problems ranging from war to endangered animals.

CRITICAL RESPONSE

James Hunter of Rolling Stone stated, "The slow blues-operatic 'Earth Song' for all its noble sentiments, sounds primarily like a showpiece".[12] Deepika Reddy of The Daily Collegian expressed the opinion that someone other than Jackson pushed to have "Earth Song" in the final album selection for commercial appeal.[15] A San Jose Mercury News review called it "flat" and "whiny", believing Jackson had already experimented with these concepts earlier in his career.[16]

The Philadelphia Inquirer described the track as "a healing, rhythmic ballad that evokes religious imagery".[14] A review in The Sacramento Bee was favorable, describing Jackson's vocal performance as "cool".[17] Michael Mehle of Rocky Mountain News described the finale as "anthemic" and a "powerful gospel opus".[13] A Ledger-Enquirer review observed of "Earth Song", "[it] enjoys the same kind of subtlety, building to a dramatic call-and-response finish with the Andrae Crouch Choir".[9] Contra Costa Times's review called it "a bit sappy and overblown" but also acknowledged that it was "epic" and destined to be a "massive smash hit".

COMMERCIAL PERFORMANCE

"Earth Song" remains Jackson's best selling single in the UK, where it sold more than one million copies. It debuted at number one, where it remained for six weeks throughout December 1995—beating the U2/Brian Eno project Passengers in competition to win the Christmas number one spot—and into the new year.[19][20] During its stay at number one, "Earth Song" kept the first single released by The Beatles in 25 years, "Free as a Bird", off the number one position. In early December, bookmakers correctly predicted that Jackson would keep The Beatles off the top position and go on to attain the Christmas number-one single.[21][22]

The song also took the number one position in Spain and Switzerland, peaking within the top five in almost every European state.[23] The song was only released to radio in the U.S., appearing on the Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart.[24] In 2006, "Earth Song" reached number 55 on the Eurochart Hot 100 Singles chart, following the Visionary: The Video Singles campaign, whereby 20 of Jackson's hit singles from the 1980s–1990s were reissued in several European countries.[25]

ENVIRONMENTAL RECOGNITION

Jackson received the Genesis Award: 1995 Doris Day Music Award, given each year for animal sensitivity.[19] In 2008, a writer for the Nigeria Exchange noted, "'Earth Song' drew the world's attention to the degradation and bastardization of the earth as a fall out of various human activities".[26]

The music video for "Earth Song," directed by fine art photographer Nick Brandt, was expensive and well-received; it gained a Le Film Fantastique: Best Video Award in 1996, the 1995 Doris Day Music Award at the Genesis Awards and a Grammy nomination for Best Music Video, Short Form in 1997. The production had an environmental theme, showing images of animal cruelty, deforestation, pollution and war. Jackson and the world's people unite in a spiritual chant—"Earth Song"—which summons a force that heals the world. Using special effects, time is reversed so that life returns, war ends and the forests regrow. The video closes with a request for donations to Jackson's Heal the World Foundation.[19][27] The clip was shown infrequently in the United States.[28]

The video was filmed in four geographic regions. The first location was the Amazon Rainforest, where a large part was destroyed a week after the video's completion. Natives of the region appeared in the video and were not actors. The second scene was a war zone in Croatia, with residents of the area. The third location was Tanzania, which incorporated scenes of illegal poaching and hunting into the video. No animals were harmed in the making of the "Earth Song", as the footage came from documentary archives. However, a poacher killed an elephant within a mile of the shot. The final location was in Warwick, New York, where a safe forest fire was simulated in a corn field.

MICHAEL JACKSON: A YEAR LATER...

Try not to become a man of success,
but rather to become a man of value.

He is considered successful in our day
who gets more out of life that he puts in.

But a man of value -
will give more than he receives.

¿WHAT'S YOUR EXERCISE EXCUSE?

You know you should be exercising. We've all heard that physically active people are healthier. They're less likely to develop heart disease, diabetes, and some cancer, they sleep better, and they feel happier and more energetic. Of course, a fit body looks better, too. But when it comes time to actually get out there and start moving, many of us have a long list of excuses not to exercise -- too little time, too little energy, or we simply don't like to work out.

How can you get past the excuses and get moving? Here are six top exercises excuses cited by fitness experts who spoke with WebMD -- along with tactics for overcoming them.

Exercise Excuse No. 1: "I Don't Have Time."

"How much television do you watch?" asks Walter Thompson, PhD, professor of kinesiology and health at Georgia State University.

During your shows, use resistance bands, or walk in place. Or use Tivo so you can skip the commercials and see a one-hour show later in just 40 minutes, says James Hill, PhD, co-founder of the National Weight Control Registry: "That's 20 minutes right there." Better yet, turn off the TV and spend your newfound time working out.

If it's work that's sapping all your spare time, try exercising on the job. Close your office door and jump rope for 10 minutes, or walk in place, Thompson suggests.

Your exercise doesn't have to be a formal workout either. Try making small lifestyle changes that help you move more: take the stairs instead of the escalator, don't drive when you can walk, and get a pedometer and try to increase the number of steps you take throughout the day.

The U.S. Surgeon General recommends at least 150 minutes of aerobic activity per week, which may sound daunting, but actually works out to a little over 20 minutes each day. The good news is that three 10-minute exercise sessions work just about as well as one 30-minute one, and can be much easier to fit into your schedule.

People who exercise regularly "make it a habit," says Hill, who is director of the Center for Human Nutrition at the University of Colorado, Denver. "They haven't bought any more time during the day than anyone else. What we've done is prioritize it. We find time for things we value."

Exercise Excuse No. 2: "I'm Too Tired."

It may sound counterintuitive, but working out actually gives you more energy, says Marisa Brunett, a certified athletic trainer in Orlando, Fla, and spokeswoman for the National Athletic Trainers Association. Once you get moving, your fatigue will likely disappear.

"You're getting the endorphins [feel-good hormones in your body] to release,” says Brunett. "And you're getting the circulation going -- as opposed to coming home and crashing on the couch."

It may help to work out in the morning, before you get wiped out by a demanding workday, says kinesiologist Lynette Craft, PhD, assistant professor of preventive medicine at Northwestern University.

But if you're just not a morning person, don't worry. Brunett, who likes to work out in the middle or end of the day herself, recommends doing it whenever you feel best.

Exercise Excuse No. 3: "I Don't Get a Break From the Kids."

The answer is to multitask, experts say.

"Take the kids with you," says Hill. While they're swinging, you can walk around the playground or the backyard, or jump rope. Walk the kids to school instead of driving them. During their soccer games or practices, walk briskly around the field.

Use your family time for active pursuit, Brunett suggests. Go biking with your kids, put up a badminton net in the yard, sign up as a family for "fun runs," or just walk around the neighborhood with your children. When the weather's bad, try active video games like Dance Dance Revolution, Wii Sport, and Wii Fit.

And remember that your fitness is good for your kids as well as you. "When mom or dad is more fit, has more energy, the whole family benefits,” says psychologist Christina Recascino, PhD, a professor in the human factors department at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.

Exercise Excuse No. 4: "Exercise Is Boring."

"Exercise should be like sex," says sports physiologist Mike Bracko, EdD, FACSM, a certified strength and conditioning specialist and director of the Institute for Hockey Research in Calgary. "You should want it and feel good about it before you do it. And it should feel good while you're doing it."

So how do you get there? First, find an activity you love. Think outside the box: try inline skating, dancing, or gardening. Join a sports league. Or, if you love music, try ballroom dancing. "There's an exercise for everyone," says Recascino. "It doesn't have to be onerous or unpleasant."

If it makes exercise more enjoyable for you, it's OK to watch Oprah or read while you're on the exercise bike or treadmill -- just don't forget to pedal or run.

Working out with a group also helps many people. "Not everybody's cut out to put on their iPod and go on a six-mile run by themselves," says Peter Nierman, MD, assistant professor of psychiatry at the University of Chicago.

To find a group, look through local sports publications or on the web. Or simply recruit several friends.
And, every once in a while, try something totally new. “Mix it up so you don't get bored,” says Brunett.

Exercise Excuse No. 5: "I Just Don't Like to Move."

"There are people who really enjoy not moving," says exercise physiologist Gerard Endress, fitness director of the Duke Diet & Fitness Center. They prefer to knit, read books, or watch TV. "I work with those people on, 'Can you walk in the mall?'" he says.

If it's sweating you don't like, you can get a good workout without perspiring excessively, Endress says.
You can work out indoors, where it's air conditioned. You can swim so you won't notice any perspiration. Or, try a low-sweat activity like yoga.

If exercise hurts your joints, try starting by exercising in water, recommends Brunett. The stronger your muscles get, the more they can support your joints, and the less you'll hurt. If your physical limitations are more serious, check with your local sports medicine or rehabilitation clinic, or find an athletic trainer who can help you figure out exercises that are still safe and easy to do

If you don't like to move because you feel too fat, start with an activity that's less public, like using an exercise video at home. Walk with nonjudgmental friends in your neighborhood while wearing clothes that provide enough coverage that you feel comfortable.

And remember that gyms today are different. "You don't have the Spandex gyms as much," says Endress. Women-only places like Curves may be more comfortable.

Exercise Excuse No. 6: "I Always End up Quitting."

Set small, attainable goals. Then you're more likely to feel like a success, not a failure, says Brunett. If you exercise for five minutes a day for a week, you'll feel good -- and more likely to want to try 10 minutes a day the next week.

It also helps to keep a log and post it somewhere public -- even on Facebook. Craft calls it a "wall of encouragement." Friends and family can then say, "Hey, you did 15 minutes yesterday. Great job," she says. A log also helps you see if you're starting to fall off the wagon (or the treadmill).

Having an exercise buddy keeps you accountable as well, says Boston psychologist Eric Endlich, PhD, who works with patients who need motivation to diet and exercise. When you back out of a scheduled workout, you're letting down your buddy as well as yourself.

And look toward the future. It's harder to start exercising than to stick with it once you've got your momentum going, says David Coppel, PhD, a sports psychologist in Kirkland, Wash.: "I bet you after two weeks of this, you'll feel really good."

THE LQQK OF RECOGNITION...

Human societies have created a variety of different solutions to this basic part of the mating game and almost all of civilizations have established social controls that stigmatize the man who “covets” another man. It’s an irrational solution, after all aren’t we coveters just here to destroy man-kind? Nonetheless, in civilized society, we gay men had to establish a way of getting each other’s attention. As it is TOO risky to publicly ask another unknown man that you pass on the street if he would like to have dinner with you sometimes whether the man in question is willing or not, you just couldn’t take that risk!

As studies have shown, ‘Gaydar’ may actually exist and I along with MANY other gay men can attest to that fact that we can seek each other out NO matter where we might be. Isn’t  it exciting to know that when you stare @ a complete stranger and he stares, you know that is THE LOOK OF RECOGNITION? We have been beating society @ its own game with our innate ability to zero in on other men and I think that over time we’ve become MORE perceptive and detail-oriented (hiding in plain sight), thus giving us an even GREATER chance of picking up on subtle clues in other men that they may be homosexual.

I MET MY FIRST BOYFRIEND WITH THE LOOK OF RECOGNITION & I CAN SAY THAT IT DOES HAVE ITS DRAW BACKS…BUT I DIGRESS, SO DO YOU HAVE ANY INTERESTING STORIES TO SHARE ABOUT OUR UNCANNY ABILITY TO FIND EACH OTHER?

EVERYDAY IS A WINDING ROAD

"Everyday Is a Winding Road" is the second single from American rock star Sheryl Crow's 1996 self-titled album. The song met well with radio and peaked at #11 on the Billboard Hot 100. Neil Finn, lead singer of Crowded House, provides backing vocals. It also peaked at #12 on the UK Singles Chart. Paul Hester, another member of the band, was the inspiration for the song. This song is accompanied with a music video, directed by Peggy Sirota, filmed in sepia tone in New York City which features a toy airplane flying from person to person throughout the city. It also garnered a nomination for Record of the year at the 1998 Grammy Awards but lost to "Sunny Came Home" by Shawn Colvin.

The song was covered by Prince on his 1999 album, Rave Un2 the Joy Fantastic. The song was used in several 2006 and 2007 Subaru commercials and in the films Erin Brockovich and Phenomenon.

"SUPER" UNCLES...

So being an uncle, I found this article interesting…So NATURALLY I thought I’d share it with you to get your feedback.

A new study by Canadian researchers adds weight to the theory that the evolutionary role of gay men may be to serve as “super uncles” who help close family members survive.

Paul Vasey, an evolutionary psychologist at the
University of Lethbridge, sought to address an entrenched scientific riddle: If homosexuality appears to be inherited, how have gay men, who are less likely to reproduce, continued to pass on their genes without becoming extinct?

According to The Gazette of Montreal, one long-running theory argues that gay men serve the evolutionary role of acting as “super uncles” who assist close relatives and indirectly increase the chances of passing on their genes.

“The idea is that homosexuals are helping their close relatives reproduce more successfully and at a higher rate by being helpful: babysitting more, tutoring their nieces and nephews in art and music, and helping out financially with things like medical care and education,” reports The Gazette.

Vasey and his colleague Doug VanderLaan tested the theory on the Pacific island of Samoa, where they studied women, straight men, and the fa'afafine, men who prefer other men as sexual partners and are accepted within the culture as a distinct third gender category.

“Vasey found that the fa'afafine said they were significantly more willing to help kin, yet much less interested in helping children who aren't family — providing the first evidence to support the ‘kin selection hypothesis,'” reports The Gazette.

"Maybe it's in this way that they're indirectly passing on at least some of the genes that they're sharing with their kin," said Vasey.

The findings are published online this week in the journal Psychological Science.

Researchers are now exploring whether the fa'afafine actually follow through on their stated willingness to help family members by giving more money to relatives.

THE SING CAMPAIGN

One of the worst things a driver can do is take his or her eyes off the road. It's the same when we begin talking about HIV/AIDS. If we allow ourselves to become complacent and to not focus on where we're going, even for one minute, this infectious disease will just keep on festering, a little more and a little more.

HIV/AIDS is causing such saddening harm to the world. What's even sadder is that the age bracket of this infectious disease is spreading to younger generations at a rapid rate, one that has outpaced statistical measurability. Our communities are being destroyed and we need to take a look around and be aware of the path we're currently on, to remember all those who have fought, are fighting and potentially will fight HIV/AIDS. We must take a stand against this agent that is causing so much havoc nationwide.

Whether we have a day, month, or year of remembrance, our destination has become unclear. One question still perplexes me, Will we ever finally announce in booming, triumphant voices that we've defeated HIV/AIDS, or will it continue to silently kill more and more of us every day?

While on the road called our lives, have we become sidetracked about life's woes and small situations? Have we allowed such a devastating canker worm to eat away at our communities? As a man that embraces humanity with heart N’ soul, I stand on my foundation of hope. I declare that we're no longer headed in the direction we're supposed to be, but we can definitely turn around.

It is time to celebrate life and connect with those who are in dire need of being educated about safe sex practices. And just as importantly, it's a time to get tested. This is the year of action, the year of getting back on our road to joy. As I watch the images of persons fighting this disease via Annie Lennox’s SING CAMPAIGN website, I feel SO POSITIVE! Though I am a tiny little speck of dust floating in the cosmos, I am cognizant of my ability to do something BIG as we all are in the grand scheme of things.

GAY ONLINE SOCIALIZING...

So I mentioned to a few friends of mine that I still have my ADAM4ADAM & BGC accounts and they feel that since I am in monogamous relationship that I should have deleted those accounts a long time ago. Noel and I met via BGC so I don't think there is anything wrong with my keeping myself there or on A4A...After all Noel trusts me and he knows where we stand...So how about you, do you think my keeping myself on these sites can and will lead to problems or do you feel that they are harmless and they are NO big deal?

TRUE BLOOD: SEASON 3, EPISODE 1 – BAD BLOOD

True Blood returned for its third season sexier and bloodier than ever.  Season 2 left a ton of cliffhangers with Bill's kidnapping, Jason shooting Eggs and Sam off to find his birth parents.  Season 3 picked up right where things left off, with one major addition: werewolves.

Bill in Mississippi

Bill wasn't kidnapped by Eric, but by a mysterious group of V addicts who took him to Mississippi.  After wandering around shirtless for most of the episode, Bill finally started to return home before running into a pack of wolves.  Not just any wolves - werewolves!

Sookie's Search and Eric's Butt

Sookie spent the majority of the premiere hopping from one person to another to find Bill, ultimately using Jessica to track down the car the kidnappers used.  More importantly, Sookie's search involved a stop at Fangasia where Pam let her into the dungeon to find Eric, naked and "initiating" the new dancer with a six hour sex session.

Eric, The Queen and the Magister

After just one episode back in season 1, the beloved Magister, in charge of doling out vampire punishment, returned to investigate the dramatic increase in V sales in Louisiana.  The Queen and Eric covered their own butts and it became very clear that Eric's primary storyline this season will deal with trying to cover up his involvement with Lafayette in selling vampire blood.

The Rise of Pam

The Magister's inquiry about V trafficking may not be good news for Eric, but it's great for Pam, his alluring right-hand woman, as she stepped up big-time in this episode.  Pam stole the show for me thanks to her great attack on Lafayette, demanding that he take her seriously and sell off the rest of the V quickly.

Sam's Homoerotic Dream

It turns out Sookie isn't the only one having inappropriately sexy dreams about a vampire whose blood she drank.  While in Arkansas to find his birth parents, Sam has a dream where a shirtless Bill Compton visits him and asks for a hot shower.  After offering Bill the shirt off his own back, Sam is invited to join Bill in the shower for some "hard" water.  If you're a fan of homoeroticism, this was probably the single hottest scene in the history of television, with tons of breathless anticipation before Sam woke up at just the right time (or wrong time, depending on what you're into).

Jason's Non-Threesome

Still freaking out over shooting Eggs, Andy tries to get Jason to cover it up by returning to his horndog roots.  Jason tries by inviting a pair of veterinary students to his place, but poor dumb Jason can't get it up because he's haunted by visions of bullet holes in their heads.  On the bright side, the show still got Jason naked even when he's not having sex.

Hoyt/Jessica and Terry/Arlene

The season 3 premiere of True Blood was loaded with storylines for everyone.  Hoyt moved in with Jason and tried to get Jessica back, but she's preoccupied by what to do with the trucker she killed.  One way to make this show even better would be adding a lot more Hoyt, because he's probably my favorite underused character.  Meanwhile, Arlene's increased sense of smell told her she's pregnant with Terry's baby, which left her freaking out.

True Blood is definitely back and it's getting ready to do very bad things with us this season.
What did you think of "Bad Blood" and how it kicked off the new season?
